We have been multiple-decade users of Student Billing 7, then Tuition Management, and now Billing Management. One feature available in SB7 and TM that is not currently available in Billing Management is the ability to setup pre-defined discounts/credits. Billing Management currently has the ability to manually add credits to individual accounts or in bulk post-contract, but the amounts need to be manually calculated.

Billing Management would greatly benefit by having pre-defined discounts/credits that would be setup to be similar to how we setup tuition/charges. Set discounts/credits could be created for specific dollar amounts or percentages and have the ability to assign that discount/credit by board type, grade level, payment plan, program, etc. GL Distributions should be predefined along with application restrictions.

Our schools give a percentage discount to parents who pay using a 1- and 2-payment plan, so we would love to have a discount item that would automatically get assigned for people choosing those payment plans. Our schools have a multiple child discount that we would love to automatically get assigned. Our school also offers tuition discounting for parents that volunteer at our school-owned thrift store, and the amount of the discount varies with the grade level of the student, so being able to apply such discounts as an item/code and have the system automatically know the dollar amount of the discount/credit that should be applied is essential.

We also need the ability for tuition/charges and the above discount/credits to be optionally chosen by the parent during the contract completion process. When they complete a contract, not only should they have all the 'required' tuition/charges/discounts/credits showing on the contract, but the system should also prompt them with the 'optional' charges/discounts/credits that are available based on that student's board type, grade level, program, etc. and let the parents select which they want to sign up for. For example, our schools provide optional bus service, and on the contract in Tuition Management, the parents have the option during enrollment to select the bus fee in order to sign up for bus service for that student. That is not currently possible with Billing Management.
