Need SMTP email process so we can select members from a list or group and send emails
We need a way to mass email current students. We tried community groups, but not all current students need to be in the list. The smart groups cannot filter out those not needed and editing the groups manually is too time consuming. Our students do not log in and will not check the internal messages within Blackbaud. They do check emails for the most part. Example: Billing needs to send emails to all current students that have a balance. Billing needs to send an email to all current students that have a new bill. I am sure other departments have a need to email a large group of students as well.

It would very helpful to have such feature. We need to be able to select email recipients from the list of students in the group and send an email message to these students directly from the program (SMTP email sounds great for this purpose).
Another idea is to use an advanced or regular list as a source for email recipients. There could be many applications for this feature, e.g. a registrar needs to send email to all part-time students, or to students who will be graduating next spring, a bursar needs to send email to students who have a balance etc.
