Currently, I have to inform our students not to sign up for classes they want to audit but to email me separately about it. Unfortunately, some students just sign up for the class anyway but, since there is no way to indicate that they intend to audit the class, it looks like they are taking it for credit. We are a college (not K-12) and students sometimes audit classes. Also, after I manually enter students in as auditers of a class, they can't see this information on their schedule -- it just looks like they are taking the class for credit. Even professors have to go to some deep dark corner of the system in order to figure out who is auditing a class rather than taking it for credit.
