Notifications tied to multiple categories should not send duplicate alerts

I just received 5 of the same notifications because it was published to 5 groups that I belong to.

This is a problem for announcements and news.

    Hi all, I believe this was fixed a long time ago it looks like the idea just didn't get updated. I'm going to close it out but if anyone is still having occurrences of this can you get in touch and I'll have someone take a look? This would definitely be a bug if so so we could get it reported up through support. thanks!

    This is definitely on our radar and we're considering ways to address this. Don't have a timeframe for this yet, but just wanted to let you know we understand the frustration. Thanks for your patience on this.

    Really need the system to be smarter. We have community groups by grade level and division. We also have parents that have multiple students at our school. They are being hammered with duplicate alerts because the same notification is being published to multiple groups that the parent belongs to. Very frustrating.
