I would like the ability to change required signatures after a School Form has been set to active and users start filling it out. This would be a great feature if we require both signatures initially, but need to reduce it to one later down to road without created a new form.
Though I see that this can be complex. Forms are locked down after first viewer, as the brute-force coding of form language <> signature correlation. What Forms need in general is the idea of "snapshotting," whereby the signed version of the form is saved, and subsequent changes can be made for subsequent signers.
We have text in our 2-signature forms that we'd have to change too.
Snapshotting would solve a lot of issues, such as refining wording or instructions in a form after initial users have usability issues (no amount of user testing can foresee all of these issues.) Could apply that to the onBoard Application too, which also cannot be touched once used.
There is some kind of snapshotting going on in the code: We had "student birthdate" field displayed in a form, and after a Parent just viewed the form, they told us birthdate was wrong, and we changed it in User profile, the old birthdate was stuck on the form forever. I don't even think the parent submitted it, and it still has a "snapshot" of the initial state of that birthdate field.
