Allow users to populate their own gender field using school forms

The Profile Update school form has a User Profile Update block that allows users to update their own profile data. However, there's no field for Gender in that block. Since we'd like user's to populate that information, please add a Gender field to the User Profile Update block.

Currently, the only block on the Profile Update form with Gender is User Children. That only allows the parent to populate gender for their children. We need each user to be able to populate that field on their own.

With the update to forms on March 7, I had to add a form field for Gender.

Why is this field not part of the User Information like address, grade level, or graduation year.

Our school has gendered instruction for lower and middle school, so when making sports and course selections through forms it would be VERY helpful to have the option to at least show gender in the form.

I would suggest to have two genders, one is the birth gender, the data collected recogises the birth gender and will be used for government reporting to the Ministry of Education; the other gender will be the gender they would like to be identified with.

I also suggest to create a gender pronouns field under user profiles in Core, include the existing values such as she/her/hers, he/him/his, they/their/theirs, and also leave some room for personalisation, such as they/him. Then, we can make the associations between gender identities and the gender pronouns. The gender pronouns should also be displayed in the student profile right after the gender field.

    Thank you!

We send out notices to Mothers for mother/child events and to father for Father /Daughter dance, etc. But we can not store the relationship--mother or father, etc, just  as parent. The only way to send an email to the right parent is by gender. Please add this in the profile update form
