- Provide School Division filter (in our case, Lower School, Middle School, Upper School.) Checkboxes, not pulldown, so can select both lower and middle school often.
- Enable checkboxes, or some way to select multiple, instead of pulldown, for Grade filter. Sometimes may want some arbitrary range, like K-3.
- Enhance Group Filter: Not just My Groups, but ability to build list of any number of "groups" visible to me (and as platform manager, that should be just about all,) with group meaning either a Class, Advisory, Team, Activity Group, Community Group etc. (Also a bug: a smart Activity group of 171 students only showed about 150 of them here.)
- If focus is on search field, hitting Enter should execute search. (Have to click magnify glass now.)
- If typing in search field, provide auto-suggest list (like new People Finder), and ability to Select (or Add?) right from that list. Or some way to add random list quickly. (Currently, to add a list of people not easily found with filters, that is, random, have to type text string, mouse/search, select, click Add Currently Selected, Add dialog closes, then have to open it again for next individual...)
- Optimize progress feedback and performance of Selecting and Adding long lists. 500+ gets slow, and browser offers to kill the whole session several times. Plus, you click some buttons too quick and only part of selected gets added.
I agree, this process is extremely tedious and prone to leaving people out.
To add to this, I think that the search feature in the "Record Absence" for attendance managers is close to this request. Can filter students by year, group type, school level, term, grade and section, and can "check" the students that you'd like to select. If you change the search parameters, the students previously selected do not go away, and any more students selected will be added to the list. I think this feature would be helpful not only for adding recipients, but for any general search.
