Export to CSV from Lists rather than HTML Excel files

I need just plain CSV export as an option because the Excel option puts in a bunch of unnecessary HTML tags that Numbers and Google Drive can't read. I'd just like a .CSV file or a simple .XLS format that doesn't include the HTML tags so I'm not restricted to using Excel.

As for Excel, I would like the ability to export to Excel using the .xlsx file type instead of .xls. At the very least, CSV is a must.

Can you give the option back to export reports as xls? !!

The html tags are STILL an issue in 4/2019 -- See Academics> Courses run a list which includes the "Description" field. When exported, that one field is exported with html!

Agreed. This would be most helpful and eliminate additional steps to transfer data between different platforms.

If you think this is a good idea, please consider voting for this enhancement, which will allow users to automate exports on a scheduled basis.

Now that list export is broken, this is a perfect opportunity to fix it with a simple CSV export...

Please get an export that works again for lists.

It would still be good to have an export option with the HTML tags.  We use the student Bio to hold their Health Record.  I can then print it nicely in a word document.

CSV is pretty standard, and can be used by virtually any program, so this format would be my choice as well. I like the idea of setting download formats globally too.

I just created another idea, but I'd also like to see direct export to google drive.

    My vote is for CSV.

Also, I want this option not just for lists/reports, but for ANYTHING that allows export. In fact, why not just have one global export function that uses whichever format you choose?

This would be great. Also make sure encoding of file is correct so the accent characters are treated properly.

This would be helpful for me too.
