Currently many users are missing out on notifications they would like to receive because they are not sure where to sign up for them. For several, they may not contact the school until much later causing them to miss out on receiving the notifications. 

It would make more sense to have the current Notifications settings moved directly to the menu they see when clicking on their name. This would help to improve visibility of the Notifications options and help the users to self-adopt these sooner than if they feel the need to reach out to the school directly.
