1) Emergency Contacts are used as alternate contacts in the event of an individual emergency with a student. (In addition, this module is poorly designed for this purpose and should be re-worked. There are many ideas in the portal relating to this problem).

2) The Connect 5 (blackboard connect/alertNow) integration is for issuing alerts to our school community. 

These two things have nothing to do with each other, yet they've been lumped together to serve the same function. The result is confusion amount our parents and staff.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but this is something that HAS TO BE RIGHT.
