A few small things should be implemented with Bulk Photo Upload to make it easier to use.
1- Remove the case-sensitivity. It's unnecessary and just slows the process.
2- Allow at least some special characters. Apostrophe's, for instance, are common in last names which are often used as filenames.
3- Change the photo upload window to scroll through only the pictures and leave the box to drop photos static at the top so you don't have to scroll down to find who doesn't have a photo, then scroll back up to drag and drop.
I uploaded all our student/faculty photos tonight. What a joy to use! I didn't have to worry about people not in the database, I had some case-sensitivity differences that didn't freak it out, and extra photos (I didn't cross-match) didn't lock things up, it just ignored them (an error message, would have been handy - but one step at a time!). Thanks so much for your work on this, it's now so much better than the "old way"!!
Good news, the case sensitivity, special characters and ability to skip users without a file is all coming with the Sept 19th release!
Agree with all listed here. I'm also running into a problem when uploading a photo that isn't in the CSV. When I do it in the first batch, I get an error message. If photos are already uploaded (i.e. I didn't do them all in one group), it just freezes with "loading..." and never gives me the Update button. The case-sensitivity and requirement for all users in the file to have a photo are new conditions that didn't exist with the old uploader and I wish they were "fixed" ...
Also I would like to see the Bulk upload remove the requirement for every user in the CSV to have a photo - if there's one user in there for whom I don't have a photo, I have to go back, delete them from my CSV, rey-load and do it all again.
