We need a way to designate a user, typically a parent, as DO NOT CONTACT throughout the system. We have students with No contact court orders against a parent and there is no comprehensive way to flag that. Marking No Contact on the contact card merely removes the parent from the Emergency Contacts. We write a note at the top of the student record in OnRecord, but that isn't seen anywhere else. Faculty looking up students are still able to see the parent's contact information and don't see anything warning them about the No Contact.
The work around that was suggested by support is to list that parent's information in Admin View Only custom fields.
A system wide flag or even a custom relationship of "Parent - Do Not Contact" would be so much more useful and informative. This is a serious legal issue, we cannot be contacting parents with court orders against it.
We worked with our guidance dept and came up with a temporary solution that worked pretty well until the release in March. We used the editable comment area in Academics (directly under the photo) to add notes in RED color using HTML "Parental Restriction on File: Father not allowed on campus" and also the student Bio fields in Core/Contact Card.
Until the release in March, any employee/teacher could almost immediately identify those students with restrictions. The release in March merged the Bios into one block and suppressed the comments (boo!!!!!) but it still works for the majority of our users until a more permanent solution can be made.
