Ability to use nickname instead of first name in upper-right hand display name
We would like to be able to have a user's name that displays for them when they are logged in be their preferred name. This would be displayed where they access their profile, settings, etc. Currently, this display field uses first name/last name, but we would like to be able to use a user's preferred name to personalize the experience.

Janet, when will they address the issue of first names showing in the directory instead of preferred names. This is becoming a hot issue at our school.
We changed this for all users, it is not configurable. The way you see yourself will use your preferred name if it is set, otherwise first name.
Where do you change this? I've looked everywhere but can't find it,
assuming I am not misunderstanding. This is referring to our name with the
drop-down menu for Profile, Settings, Files and Forms, etc., correct?
