Reports across the board need to be more customizable

Reports offered in On pale in comparison to Education Edge.  Why can't I customize reports to export more fields than are offered or change sort order / filter options?

Course Roster by Teacher is the type of report we need but it doesn't fit our requirements as it has fields we don't need/want (ie. Home phone, Advisor) and I can't add what we do want.

Example: We are trying to generate class rosters that include basic student data (name, Dob, gender) and parent salutation and contact information (email, wireless, home, business phones). As of today, Parent wireless and business phones are not available in Academics-Student lists.

In addition, I need to be able to filter these by 'section' or teacher not just course or grade level as we have multiple Kindergarten classes and I need to know which students are in which teacher's class.

    Janet,

Here's another example.  I'd like to run the Cumulative Grade Export report under the Gradebook section and I'd like to run it for all departments (instead of doing this for each and every department).  Why can't I modify the report to select all departments or select multiple grade levels at once (instead of one at a time?  These are the little things that really bug me about On which I took for granted in EE, but now I miss.  *frustrated*

Would love a plain and simple course roster. Course name, Course code, Teacher and room. List each student along with grad year or current grade level and give a total number of students at the end. Would like to generate by department, Course title or code, Period/block or teacher.

All the parent info included on the current roster is unnecessary.

    Janet,

Let's say I wanted to run a Course Sections - By School Year report and I wanted to sort it by Teacher instead of by Department, how do I go about doing this?  Or what if I wanted to generate a report/list that returns a list of teacher sections with the grade level, department, course name, course number, the teacher name and the number of students.  How would I go about do that via a list or a report?  It was very trivial to do in EE.  In On, it borders on the edge of tedium.

Our new path forward is to provide this customization through Lists where you can select and order the columns, filter by a variety of options and export as needed. Please reply here if there is a Report you are trying to modify that you can't solve via Core > User List or Academics > Student List or the variety of lists provided under Attendance or Scheduling, and we'll try to address.  We are trying to replace each of the reports.
