I completely agree. Right now, sign-in messages can only be assigned to roles as a whole. We need the ability to do something like assign a message to the student role and then fine-tune that to say only students in grades X, Y, and Z should see the message. That specific example would make sign-in messages an incredibly valuable tool. Without the ability to fine-tune, the sign-in feature offers little value.
