Ability to Assign Role of Past Student for imports

I have been doing mass imports into Core from my old database and I am unable to assign the role of Past Student using the new data import files. It would be helpful to be able to assign this role for all of our withdrawn students in bulk rather than individually.

    Hi Janet,

    I imported new users with the general user import - the majority of these users were Alum, which I assigned successfully. The remaining are Past students and when I tried using the import file to assign them as such, the file validation failed and I received the following error "Invalid Data: must provide another role type." These are new users who do not have any existing roles.

    I don't have parent or relationship information for these users, so I would not be able to use the data refresh.

    Hi Veronica, 

    Can you elaborate why you were unable to use the role import for past students?  We would expect it would work for new users in the system.

    There are rules in place where we will not allow a past student role if the user has one of these existing roles:
    Student, Alumni, Incoming Student, Candidate, Past Candidate.
