When setting up the industry and fields of study settings in the contact card, allow them to be recorded using checkboxes so that people can mark multiple ones at the same time.  This is to reflect the move towards multidisciplinary jobs and industries as well as trends that show that people are studying multidisciplinary fields and/or multiple fields throughout their lifetime.
