As of right now, the social security number (SSN) field is not available on any form in any module. This makes collecting this information extremely difficult. Some states require that the SSN be printed on transcripts, while others require schools to include the SSN when uploading transcript data when applying for a state scholarship. Allowing schools to have a programatic way to collect this information would be best. I suggest the field be included in the profile update form so it can be marked as required and the form could be pushed out to a group of selected users.
