Add Additional Relationship Types

In the list of Relationship Types there is a category called Spouse/Partner but no relationship called Ex-Spouse/Ex-Partner only Ex-Husband/Ex-Wife. There is the possibility for Ex-Husband/Ex-Husband or Ex-Wife/Ex-Wife now, so I think those need to be added and the Ex-Spouse/Ex-Partner category as well for those schools that use that.

    Is this on Blackbaud's radar? Been an idea since 2015!


    Also, I think these this should be merged with this idea: https://blackbaudk12.ideas.aha.io/ideas/K12CO-I-1978 - its more general, but it's practically asking for the same thing - ability to add custom relationship types.

    "the Ex-Spouse/Ex-Partner" relationship type is scheduled for summer release.

    Ex-wife <> Ex-husband reciprocal relationship is heteronormative. This is absurd and I can not believe this only has 38 votes in 2.5 years.

    We would like to add and name our own relationships.  For example in EE, we have "former spouse", and separated spouse".  Also have "deceased father/mother/spouse etc."

    Would it be that hard to change Ex-GenderSpecifcTerm / Ex-GenderSpecificTerm to simply Former Spouse/Partner? Options would then be Spouse/Partner || Spouse/Partner and Former Spouse/Partner || Former Spouse/Partner, right?

    the very idea that we are forced to play your stupid voting games in order to try to be able to do our work correctly and efficiently is just one more example of the disaster you have turned this entire experience into for your users.

    I agree with Jan - let us set our own relationship types.  It is then up to us to make sure that we have the corresponding relationship types in RE or EE when running synchronization.

    It would be better if we could just select each relationship type instead of them being linked together; the way Education Edge & Raiser's Edge allows us to select them individually.  If they have to remain linked, then there should be Wife/Wife as well as Husband/Husband as our parents prefer not to be listed as Spouse/Partner etc...

    Schools should be able to define their own list of Relationship types, applicable everywhere (Emergency Contacts, etc.)

    I'd like to see the addition of "Guardian" aded to relationship types.  In the case of a divorced couple where one of the former spouse remarries, listing the new spouse as "parent" has been problematic.  I need to be able to link the new spouse to the child's record but would prefer to use "guardian" rather than "parent" as the child already has two biological parents linked.
