More robust login page options for mixed environments

In schools that have mixed login environments it would be great to have more options for the login screen.

For example parents are using local usernames and passwords but students and faculty are being enrolled in BBID to go through ADFS. This creates issues because students and faculty need to login using their full email while parents would still login using their local username. Currently, we can edit the login/username text to ask for a username or an email address but in order to address both login types the text would be so long that no one would read it.

I propose an option for mixed environments that splits the login into two clear areas with custom labels for each. One can be labeled for Parents only and it will instruct the user to enter their local legacy username. The other can be labeled for Students and Faculty and it will instruct them to enter their school email. Additionally a button can be added with a custom label and url for sso redirection. The domain settings area allows for this currently but it is so small and hidden that it not helpful.

See the attached image of the proposed options.

    Hi Devin,

Thank you for the thought you've put into this idea. Sooner rather than later we will be encouraging ALL users at the school to use Blackbaud ID, and we will be introducing a branded Blackbaud ID signin page to eliminate the need for the existing school login page. By "sooner" I expect this will be available in Summer of 2021 and when it will be required for all schools to switch is still to be determined. (Some visuals are provided in our our K-12 session 1 Product update. )

Some schools construct a different URL to send SSO users (typically staff and students) right into the application instead of directing them through the school login page. You can see more information at this forum post: https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/502/47933

Domain Settings can also control where SSO users land when they logout of the system to keep those users away from the signin page. If you haven't already explored this option, you can continue to keep the school login geared to parents and other users who still use a username/password. If you have further questions about the existing software, please reply on that post so we can keep it discoverable to others who may be trying to solve this same problem.
