Dashboard Builder/Insight Designer - dynamic dates to compare periods

To look at admission trends, I designed a dashboard that compared 4 years of admission candidate statuses for a specific period. To do that, I created 4 Insights for each of the admission year and the same period for 4 years. Each time I update the period, I have to change all 4 insights because each of the dates are different. If Insight Designer can multiple years trend analysis, that would be great.

    Here's the trick! Use measure Candidate, and drag Date to the filter bar. From there pick "This year" and compare to same time previous year.

    We have recently changed Candidate Status date years to be based on the July to June instead of calendar year. (soon to change to your specific Admissions start month). This provides meaningful numbers for this year as YTD or year-over-year compared to prior period.


    This also means grouping by month on Status date on line charts etc will order from July through to June instead of January to Dec. This affects the Candidates pre-configured dashboard as well.
