Once a student is no longer active, we want staff to not be able to see grades and history. Only our registrar and grade managers should see this. Currently advisors and dorm parents can see classes and progress/grades of employees who are alumni/past students from 10+ years ago. We can shut off grade viewing via gradebook setup for past years, but staff can still see other items on the progress tab, like classes taken. We'd like them to see for active students only. So staff could look at last years progress only if the student is an active student still. When staff use the directory to look up a current employee, they are not restricted from seeing their grades from when they were a student.
Please restrict current faculty users from viewing academic information for former students who are now faculty or parent users. At the present time, if a staff member uses the contact card available through our student or faculty directory, they can view academic performance, attendance and attendance comments, and class schedules for former students (alumni) who are now current faculty members or current parents. This is not information that should be available eight, nine, or ten years after their graduation year.
