Bulk Default Setting of User Notification Settings

Currently, there is no way to bulk set user notifications (in user's Settings) for any of the types of communication (i.e. announcements, news, messages, etc). The only default communication type is pushpages (i.e. bulk email).

I would like to propose a way for admin to bulk import user settings for all users so they receive the information they need from the system.

If this continues as is, we will have to continue to hand change these for each user. We have found that even sending videos and repeated emails does not encourage most users to opt in to these notifications.

Here is a great discussion topic overviewing this struggle: Setting Default User Notifications.

What is happening? Why does this say "implemented?" It is not implemented.

    This would be very helpful!

We also struggle with this and have to manually set the notifications for each new student, parent, and faculty/staff member which we think should be "default"

I just found out that this was not turned on by default at the very least. This is absolutely absurd!

Agreed! Announcements is useless if, by default, the notifications are turned off for all users and they have to opt in. Whoever made that decision has not worked in a school before because as noted in the original post, getting parents and students to take the time to opt in is not easy.
