We just accepted our incoming freshman class and every student that filled out an inquiry form more than a year ago had their account locked when they attempted to log in. We either need a way to bulk unlock these accounts or accounts should automatically unlock when their role switches to something where a student/parent will be interacting with the school more often (i.e. Candidate to Incoming Student).
Yes, please.
I have a lot of parents who only sign in once a year, generally to complete the reenrollment contract. I have a large number of requests coming in now saying their account is disabled, which is because it's been more than 13 months since their last reenrollment, hence login.
The export/import process is cumbersome at best. There should be a way to make sure parents of enrolled students just stay active, or at the very least easily reactivated en masse.
Each year, a not small amount of our alumni return as brand new parents. We found through the new enrollment onboarding process that almost all of their accounts were disabled due to inactivity.
When they are in this status, they do not automatically show up in the BBID "unregistered" list. After applying the filter, there is the option to uncheck the "Hide inactivated" box, but there still isn't any action that can be taken from that screen.
We just used the import method to re-enable all of our alums (so now they show up in the list), but it would be a WAY nicer and easier UI if after unchecking that box, there was either an option to "Re-enable and connect" OR have the connect button automatically re-enabled the selected user(s).
Thanks, Leah, for sharing the workaround; and thanks to everyone who has voted so far! I wanted to comment so you know this has my attention. I'll be discussing with the team next week to explore possibilities.
Is this the same as having an account disabled? I've been doing that for our alumni records that get automatically disabled after 365 days of inactivity. You'll need user's first, last, user ID, and username. You can go to Security > Data Import > Create Import Job > Category: User Management > Import Type: Username > View file layout help for guidance. You can just put "No" in the disable_login field to re-enable their accounts. One import will unlock those accounts. Hope this helps!
Please consider adding bulk unlock. It's frustrating for all users, including alums, parents, and potential parents/students, to run in to this stumbling block while trying to connect with our school.
