I use the annotation tool to grade student work, and often the student needs to revise their work for a better grade. If I click "allow resubmit" the students original submission and all my comments are deleted! We need the system to allow late work submissions, and to allow students to submit revised work. We also need to see a record of work submitted, progress made, and teacher comments! I have been advised to use convoluted work arounds like adding extra assignments for the the same assignments, or downloading work, grading, and sending back to students. This creates a convoluted grade book, extra work and coordination, and confusion. Even free platforms like Google classroom and Schoology offer this basic function.
