It would be great to have the option to display the long name value of U.S. states in applications and forms versus only the abbreviated form. Prospective users may not know the abbreviated versions of a state. Plus, the Armed Forces (AA, AE, etc.) and territory (GU, PR) abbreviations are also included in the value list which causes confusion for those that do not recognize these designations/areas as typical states.

This causes the school to verify instances that don't make sense like AK vs. AR (Alaska vs. Arkansas) or MS vs. MI vs. MO (Mississippi v. Michigan v. Missouri)
