Our teachers often offer both on-paper and in-system submission for the same assignment as different methods work better for different students. However, in order to allow in-system submissions, students who submit their assignment on paper will have that assignment appear with the "To Do" status until the teacher enters a grade; or, they have to "submit" their assignment in-system, which students have been doing via the text field stating they handed in a paper assignment. However, we do not want students to have to do this if they've already handed in their paper copy.

If a teacher marks the assignment as collected in their gradebook, this should be reflected in the student view by updating the assignment status to Completed prior to the teacher entering a grade.

Currently, it will still designate the status as To Do until the student submits something in the system (see Class Assignment Tab image below) or the teacher enters a grade. While the expanded assignment details will show the status as Completed and that the assignment is marked as Collected (see Assignment Detail image below), that Completed status should also display in the student view of the Assignment Center and class-specific Assignments tab, where we see the purple To Do status in the first image.
