Allow Scheduling of Graded Assignment Notifications

Currently, graded assignment notifications are triggered automatically at the moment a teacher commits scores. While timely feedback is important, the inability to schedule these notifications can create unintended challenges for students.

When notifications are delivered at inconvenient times, such as late at night or in the middle of a class period, they can be distracting and, in some cases, emotionally disruptive. A grade alert during the school day may shift a student’s focus away from instruction, while a late-night notification can heighten stress without access to immediate support from teachers.

For these reasons, we turned off graded assignment notifications.

A more balanced solution would be to allow schools to schedule when graded assignment notifications are released. For example, during designated windows after school hours. This would preserve transparency and timely communication while ensuring notifications are delivered at developmentally appropriate and less disruptive times.
