Parental Signatures required based on Contractual/Financial responsibility

I would like to request that the way signature access be required on a contract be based on contractual/financial responsibility vs. being listed as parent/parental access.

We would like to be able to indicate via a parent/guardian's profile whether the user has contractual and or financial responsibility for their child, and only require a signature for those that are contractually or financially responsible.

    Admin response

    Hi There,

With the September release we are adding a "Responsible Signer" flag to the Manage Relationship options. This should give your school more granular control over who actually needs to sign the Contract.

We are setting the default based off of Parental Access/List as Parent. But you can go in and tweak the access on a per case basis and avoid unintended parities from being prompted to sign a contract this year.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Jackie

I think this could play into a number of other areas: I think a better term might be "Custodial Rights" or something more generic that might in future apply to additional areas beyond contracts. Fore example, we need a way to provide access to report cards and schedules to parent1, but not provide ability to edit their child's information or sign contracts.

In the Contact Card, why not add "Contract Signer" to the existing "List as Parent" and "Parental Access" checkboxes. To get around this, we will uncheck Parental Access for the contract signing and then re-check it. Oh well!
