Phone Number Formatting improvement needs an improvement (auto-formatting only works for North American formatting)

With a recent update, phone numbers on inquiries and applications are automatically formatted in the format '(xxx) xxx-xxxx ext.xxxx'

While this is a great step for consistency of North American constituents and users, our school hosts international users, and so this causes some confusion.

Please let us customize the formatting, or only apply it if the user isn't international, or take the country of their address into consideration.

    Hi Joe, our number formatting does take country into account. If you are finding that a user who has entered something other than the united states as their country is seeing a requirement that their number still be formatted as if they were from the United States, we would consider that a bug and invite you to please contact support. I'm going to mark this as unlikely to implement for that reason.
