Form field character limit 4000 - Would like to be able to hide the limit

When we add a form field it defaults to a 4000 character limit under the field. I don't know anyone who wants a parent to write 4000 characters worth of information on academic strengths (that's one of our questions). Also, it makes some parents feel that they need to write more than is actually necessary.

If it could just alert them when the character limit is getting to capacity that would be great!
