Official Note Reporting

Good data in but you can't get it out! If there is a feature on one end (Academics) why for the love of might, is it not something implemented across all areas???

My time is valuable and the amount of time wasted in BB is is more frustrating than having to make a grocery list for my husband or telling him to put the seat down; both of your know what needs to be done and yet you insist on making us tell you. WHY????

Total time wasted

  • Creating different Official Notes in EM back in December to "flag" students

  • Trying to retrieve that important information months later when students are arriving in June

  • Having to wait for a chat only to be told I cant access the data I entered

  • Being told I need to submit an idea

  • If I'm wasting my time, I might as well make it colorful and hopefully get your attention.

I can pull official note data (comment reports) on the academic side but not on admissions side. I did several failing grade and incomplete document official notes in EM and have literally no way to pull out a report of how many or which students have one. What am I missing

Blackbaud Support: Can I get an example of a student you sent an Official Note in EM to?

You can see it if you pull the individual student but not being able to view a report or list with any student with an official note is weird and kinda pointless.

Blackbaud Support: No problem at all! From what I can tell, currently there is no way to report on Official Notes in EM. It seems right now that is only capable within Academics. If this is a change you are looking to see implemented in the future I strongly suggest you add your idea to our ideas portal.     For example, sometimes there can be problems with filtering the correct students to receive an official note, or they gain incoming student status after the note has been sent, etc. Most of our notes contain important information that should not be issued multiple times.

    Being able to run the same exact export that can be run in Academics would take the guessing out of who has/has not received this note.

    We have a Suspected withdrawal official note and I have been asked to provide the total number of suspected withdrawals for each grade and the number of those who actually withdrew. Board members and administration would like to know this information.

    In admissions I need to know which families received the ON for learning support? This particular data is vital to ensure all families who have students with learning or social emotional supports have been contacted. Its frustrating because the functionality exists.

    Hi Lee, what type of reporting are you looking for? Are you looking to pull these official notes on a specific list? The enrollment management official notes are really geared toward being used for the admissions office. I know it seems obvious to you, but can you help me to understand why you're flagging students in EMS versus in Academics? It will help me to figure out a solution that works for you. Also- no need to make it colorful (unless you want to), all of the product managers get notified when you add an idea.
