Need for more filters when assigning BB ID in bulk

We issue BB ID's about 2 weeks before March 10 Decision Day. Currently we can only filter by Role. So out of over 1200 inquiries, I need to go through all Candidates and all Parents of Candidates to issue them BB ID's or just give all of them ID's and email Ready Action families separately. There is a need to filter by status so we can create BB ID's in bulk to specific families and not all families so the notification will be sent through the system. This would also be helpful with duplicate emails that will not be assigned an ID.
