We need the ability to hide or mask certain candidate identifiers, including but not limited to gender, race and ethnicity, in the Committee Review piece of the EMS.
Considering the recent Supreme Court decisions (Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard and SFC v. UNC) regarding admission decisions using the factors of race, ethnicity, and gender, we want to make sure our selection committees cannot view any of these fields when they review a candidate. While these factors are not used in the scoring or in any form of consideration for our programs, it allows for our institutions' general counsels/legal departments to be guaranteed that this is the case.
On the flip side, we report on these factors post-program and use gender for dorm assignments, hence the need for these identifiers.
