We've had a couple of reclasses and found that in order to reclass, the current contract has to be deleted in order to alter the student enrollment. Since the current re-enrollment contract is a legal doc, I'm not fond of this practice. That said, I did find a workaround which I hope could be integrated better into onBoard. In Core, if one goes to promote/graduate, one can use the repeat classification for the student that needs to be reclassed. Leave everyone else alone, record the contract, and generate the contract without having to remove the current contract.
It seems to be an option that is missing from within onBoard that would make the process smoother.
This issue is tied to repeat students as well. We need to designate them as repeats for their transcripts, but the contract locks us out from being able to make that designation.
What happens if the contract is already signed and then an enrollment reclass is necessary? Would your work around still work? We save the original signed contract as a PDF and attach it to the new generated contract which we manually submit on behalf of the family.
