Right now we basically can't use the calendar in onBoard, which means we are duplicating effort by double-entering all visits in both Google Calendars (which our teachers prefer) and onBoard. I had thought of using the feed feature but there are several reasons we can't. Even if we weren't going to use the feed function, there are still some issues that make it impractical to use onBoard for letting teachers know about visits/tours that are going on.
1) Better Feed - Right now the feed only shows the event name and the time. We would like to be able to sync the description as well. If possible, we would also like to have different attributes from the tour (Staff, led by, etc) inserted into the description.
2) Separate calendars for different divisions - we send our a visits calendar to division coordinators so that they can prepare for these visits. However, we don't want to clutter up their calendar with irrelevant information. We don't need HS visits on the middle school calendar, for example.
3) For some reason, interviews and visits share a feed. We log all of our phone conversations as interviews, so this quickly clutters up the calendar.
For all these reasons, the calendar is not workable for us.
To add on, we'd like to have the calendar filter on "interviewed by" and allow a user to subscribe to the feed for only their own interviews. At present, when the calendar is subscribed to in Google, the entire calendar populates without the ability to see which appointments belong to which interviewer. Ideally, each interviewer would only see the appointments assigned to them.
I would also like to see Filters that would stick. Currently you can filter out Events, Visits, and Interviews but when you navigate away, the filter defaults back to 'All'
Hi, Our work-around for the separate calendars/different divisions has been to clone the teacher role for each division and then add the faculty by the grade level and then give them access when creating the calendar.
