We want to add Grade Access to the teacher role because it muddies the role of Advisor if all users other than parents and students need that role to see the Grade books for Students under the Progress tab. It seems like the lack of access conflicts with the task roles set up for Teachers as they have access to grade books but not in the onCampus Grade Access.
We currently use Advisory so that groups of people can have access to all student grades as a sort of support system. We use Advisory so that the Admission Office can monitor students to see how they are progressing as students. We use Advisory for our Department Chairs to check in on both students and faculty. We use Advisory for our Student Support Team (includes health personnel, center for learning staff, others to check in on our students to see if services are needed or there are other concerns). We also use Advisory for our College Counselors to connect with juniors and seniors in the college process and monitor their grades.
In doing it this way, though, we cannot fully utilize Official Notes since checking the Advisor box brings everyone into the loop not just the student's advisor. Do you have any suggestions on how we can make this work better for our school? This was suggested to us during implementation a couple of years ago but, while it works on the one hand, it doesn't work on the other.
