Add Multiple Text Channels To Bulletin Board

We are requesting an enhancement for more than one text box to be used when on the bulletin board. I think it would be more convenient. Some other people from our school are looking at different options and not having this could make us go with different software.

Why is this unlikely to implement?

It is the number one request from our teachers when they're creating their Bulletin Board.

I believe this could be an easy fix if there was a way to "embed" or "link" topic INTO the bulletin board and/or embed/link assignments as well.  Perhaps looking at this a bit of different way -- Make topics a type of "storage" for curriculum, photos, files, etc and then link/embed as needed.  Making the bulletin board the depository is not only simpler but perhaps it is a better design:)

This is a great example of why Blackbaud can be frustrating. It's a revelation of the poor design of the LMS which is clearly evident in some areas. I really feel there are many concerns that have been expressed by the entire community, like this one, where Blackbaud should be making a strong effort to improve their platform, but, I feel bad to say it, it doesn't seem like Blackbaud cares.

It is frustrating to see this as something labeled as "will not implement", though the admin below comments that it IS possible, just not going to happen soon. Does will not implement mean never? It is definitely a frustration to be limited to one text box, particularly with the limited editing and formatting options available within the text box.

This type of problem is emblematic of the limitations of Whipple Hill. Things seem to be designed in very static ways that don't allow for future improvements without redesigning the whole system.

I wonder if linking to a topic page off the bulletin board would be one way to meet the need for the original request.  Jackie, can we be pretty certain that the URL for a particular topic in a particular course will stay the same and therefore, can be a reliable link?

    Hi There,

I'm not seeing this one as likely in the near future. We have some technical limitations that would take quite a bit of effort to untangle that prevent us from adding more than one of the same content type on the Bulletin Board. This fact was one of the major drivers for us to create the more flexible Topics detail page - where you can put as many text boxes as you like.

    Thanks for the feedback!
