Currently, the process by which a person would try to join a group whose settings allow for this is extremely clunky. The person has to navigate through the podium version of the group listings as follows: select "find more" under groups; select "browse all" (not the default tab), select the correct school year, select "community" groups and then finally a listing of all the groups will come up. The join or request button is hard to see and most people click on the title of the group they want to join expecting to be able to join from the group page.
Group page bulletin boards--at least for community groups or groups whose settings allow for open access--should have a join or request button or widget to be added to the page.
