Our secondary campus takes attendance per period and currently we have to mark students "absent" for an entire period when they have an early dismissal due to athletics or an appointment. Our elementary campus takes attendance for the entire day and currently doesn't record early dismissals in the system at all because it would appear to be a significant attendance issue for a child. Being able to record Early Dismissals would better capture trends in student attendance and facilitate communication between front office/athletics/teachers regarding what time a sudent should be dismissed from class.

It would be very helpful to have the option to add Early Dismissal as a type, in addition to Absent, Tardy, or Virtual. This way it will show up on the report cards as Early Dismissal.

Early dismissals only have the option for "Type" as a absence, Tardy, or Virtual. None of these Types make sense for an Early Dismissal. Present would be a good option.

We need this for athletic early dismissals especially.  We take period attendance and when they are dismissed early for athletics it looks like they have missed the whole class.

We would like to count students who are off campus on field trips and other school-related activities as "Present."
