This idea isn't dealing with "Assignment Types". Assignment Types are set up by the school and chosen by the individual teacher to apply to their assignments. In other words, a teacher can apply the Assignment Type of "Test", "Project", "Quiz", "Homework", etc. to a regular assignment, a Discussion, and Online Submission, or an Assessment.

I'm attaching screenshots of an Assignment Center. In the first screenshot where assignments are organized by Assignment Types you can see all the "Classwork" (Assignment Type) assignments. Some are normal assignments, some are Online Submission but they are all Classwork.

This Idea is asking that there be a way to sort by Discussion, Online Submission, Assessment.

One thing that is also frustrating about the "Sortable Order" view is that you can't tell if an assignment is an Assessment, Discussion, or Online Submission like you can in the "Assignment Types" view. (Second screenshot.)

I'm not even sure- this goes back to 2016....

In section assignments, the view can either be grouped by assignment type or flat list with the ability to if flattened then sort by assignment type. Is there somewhere else this is referring to? thanks!
