I know that this would require the teacher to somehow authenticate with Google through the system so that Google would know who to share the file with as the teacher, but it would be nice if when a student submitted an assignment from Google Drive and chooses "link" it would automatically share the file with the teacher so that the student doesn't have to physically go and share the document with the teacher.
Megan, is this implemented? I still have this issue with assignments.
Thank you for FINALLY implementing this feature. However, there HAS to be a way for the student or the teacher to decide whether or not to be notified that the file is shared. One of our teachers has 120 students and has them submit a Google Doc to onCampus every-other day. The amount of email notifications is ridiculous. I'm helping her setup a rule in Gmail to send them all to a folder but I'm going to have to go through this process will ALL of our teachers in order for this feature to really be useful.
How did this have to take community feedback to be suggested???
This is hugely important for schools that use G Suite all the time. The flip side is also vital--that teachers can easily share Google Docs through an assignment, rather than pasting a Doc's url in the links section.
