Advisor notification of advisee grades

In FA Web we were able to set a notification for advisors if advisee grades dropped. The advisors really appreciated it and would like to have the feature in onCampus.

I've already made adjustments so that our counselors can have access to the gradebook grades list as well as custom lists for each advisory group that pulls students with a 70% or lower.  They have had the gradebooks grades list since it came out because it was absurd they didn't have access and they have had their custom lists since shortly after we switch to this system.  They STILL NEED a notification if one of their advisee's grades dropped.  The point is to make them very aware when a student's grades are starting to fall so that they can address it as quickly as possible.   Closely monitoring grade lists for hundreds of students, isn't nearly as effective as a notification drawing their attention to the particular students in need of help via a notification.  FA web had this, I don't understand what the security risk is for the onSystem to have it.   It doesn't need to be an email if that is the concern, it can be a notification box on their My Day page.  Yes, that may take more effort on Blackbaud's end to design that functioning, however, it is about what is best for the students.

If they could have a way to view their advisee's grades in one list it would be a big help.  Right now they have to run a separate report for each advisee, or click in to each and every advisee's progress page.  Giving them access to the gradebook list for just their advisees would be very helpful.

That would be a great solution!!  The gradebook grades list are super easy to run quickly, too.  Thanks for working on this!

Hi Everyone, we have some concerns that an email notification would lead to unintended security risks. However,  we've have been thinking that making the gradebook grades list available to advisors (it would only contain their students), might be a safer way to go, and would allow them to run the list and single out the grades that they're looking for. I'm curious what your thoughts are?

    thank you,

This is one of the features I was shocked to find out didn't also exist in OnCampus. It is such a great tool to be able to be notified that a problem is developing so it can addressed before it is too late.

Our advisors feel this would make life easier and they could spend more time on other counseling initiatives.

Yes, this would be great.  It should be for Assignments (a poor assignment grade) as well as the cumulative grade average in a class.  Possibly the ability to see good grades too (for positive feedback).  I would envision some school-level defaults, but advisors could override those with student-specific thresholds.

Our advisors have been asking for this as well.

That would be an amazing option.
