Enable teachers to communicate with specific parents/students instead of sending generic email to the entire roster

If a teacher wants to communicate with a small subset of students (for example students who have not completed an assignment) and their parents, the teacher currently must look up each individual student contact card, and copy/paste the email addresses for both the student and parent into the email client.  This is very time consuming.

This functionality is critical and is currently very time consuming & inefficient.

Previously coming from Finalsite, this was an area that we thought was great & very simple to use compared to the currently available bulk options (send communication to Roster, Parents, All members).

When sending bulk messages in Finalsite (attached), we had a hierarchy that listed all groups the coach / teacher controlled, each of which were collapsable.  Each group of constituents tied to the group - teachers, parents, students - were also expandable such that each constituent type could be easily checked or unchecked in bulk if desirable.  If greater granularity was required, a constituent type could be expanded further, with each constituent listed to be individual selected as needed.

In the case of the parent constituent, the student was listed, rather than the individual parents, (and was also an expandable item) in order to select just the desired parents.  If the student was expanded, this would then reveal both the parents names & emails.

Ultimately, this setup accomplished a number of things which the current system in ON does not:

    1. Because all groups were available from a single messaging window, it was very easy for coaches and/or teachers to send a mass message to everyone in a particular team or class, as well as across multiple sections.
    2. Likewise, it was very easy to selectively choose in a few clicks the desired constituents, whether everyone of one or more constituent types, a subset, or individuals.
    3. Because parents names and emails were accessible by expanding the _student_ name and that individual students could be selected in order to select all applicable parents, it was a much faster and easier way to know who to email.

Besides not being able to easily email individual or subsets of constituents from individual or multiple team/class rosters, it's also difficult to know actually who to email.  After running into an issue today where a coach was emailing one parent (not both) of separated family, it was not clear under the relationship settings of parents and their students what option(s) actually controlled whether a parent's email displays or did not.  For example, marking a parent as 'No Contact' did not then result in the parent's email not being listed when 'Parents' was selected from the roster communication option.

Simply put, the current design & implementation makes it harder for teachers and coaches to communicate with their students, and it makes it challenging to ensure that only the appropriate parents are contacted.
