It would be great if the different items on class pages could be linked to each other.
For example, when a teacher creates an assignment, and can insert a link, allow them to link to a Topic on their Topics page or to a link or download or other item within a Topic.
Likewise, when a teacher creates an assessment, allow them to link to or embed specific items within Topics on the assessment.
As another example- allow a teacher to link an item in Topics or link to a specific Assignment from the Bulletin Board. Maybe when media or a link is selected, an option for internal media or link shows up as a pull-down, with the different areas of class pages (Bulletin Board, Topics, Assignments) as a sub-selection, then have the various items under those areas populate and be available for selection. This way, if more hyperlink-able, the class pages could be more user-friendly and cohesive rather than more siloed. Similar to the way one would design a web site, and have internal page links, as well as external page links. This would help the class pages be more dynamic.
I am away from the office from July 20 to August 17 inclusive.
I will have very limited access to email, but will respond to your message
upon my return.

These changes are going to be so useful!! I'm so excited to introduce them to our teachers next school year! Let me also chime in - WOO!

Thanks @Alex Orlebeke I must say I'm pretty darn excited to get these changes out there for you guys too and appreciate the schools that stepped up to work with us on the design in really short fashion even with end of the year craziness. Look for release notes later this summer!

We will also be adding publish dates and times on the tiles themselves so that you could create your Topics with all of the content for the quarter, term, year but have visibility to those tiles be released and expired in whatever cadence makes sense for you. So on top of being able to publish assignments tiles you could if needed publish week 1 assignments only then week 2, week 3 etc. as the term moves forward via separate assignment tiles. The ability to publish content at different times is under another idea out here but also mentioning it here as I'm hopeful that the two together will increase your flexibility even more.

This is great news! I always thought it was weird that this wasn't a thing. This addition will be immensely helpful to teachers as they structure lessons, resources, and assignments for students who may both be in person and remote.

We will be adding the ability to associate assignments, assessments and discussions (graded) with Topics this summer. The flow will be from Topics - users will have a new assignments material type/widget available that they'll then get a list of available assignments in. Students will see the list of assignments associated that are published and their status on the assignment and be able to launch assignments from there. Hopefully this will help schools be able to direct students to 'live' out of Topics for their unit work and course materials and streamline their experience.

This is so important during remote learning. Yes, a teacher can copy the link from the download she posts on Topic pages, but it adds extra steps, and what happens in future years, if she reuses assignments, but changes the download?
Please provide an update on the "Planned" status, if possible. We would love this. Thanks!

14 months later and I haven't seen any movement on this. Is there any update on this? I can't emphasize enough how huge of a feature this is!

Is there any update on this? This is a huge feature that we are currently missing.

Yes, I think this would solve an issue we are experiencing! Our performing arts/stage design teacher links unpublished (with expired as well as future dates) Topics under master Topics to avoid excessive clutter and long, scrolling pages. For years the links from within topics remained stable but since the new release in July he has had to re-link each sub-Topic twice because the url changes.
I have used this as a way to nest Resource Boards as well, so far without an issue this year but in my case I have linked to active boards.

Great idea! Many of our teachers would use this feature.
