There needs to be a way that an assignment which is completed in 2^nd marking period (for example), can be made to be part of the next marking period (3^rd marking period for example), without having to change the due date.  Changing the due date mixes up the ability of the system to track and associate absences with certain assignments.  It would be great when we were creating an assignment, if we had a box to check, saying which marking period we wanted the assignment grade to count for regardless of the assigned date and the due date. For example we want to be able to create an assignment that has an assigned date during marking period 2 and a due date during marking period 2, but to be able to check the box for Marking period 3 so it shows up in marking period 3's grade book, counts in marking period 3's grade book's cumulative GPA, and keeps the student's attendance associated with the due date (back in marking period 2).
