We would like to have the discretion to set the default for the send notification to off on Announcements or News Stories, if we wish. There are times of year when we really don't want teachers to accidentally send an automated notification when they create announcement or news story content on their course and activity pages, but currently our only option is to turn off notifications completely system wide, and that is a step too far.
