Our admissions dept. has made heavy use of the Candidates List to select a subgroup of candidates and send home a note to parents via Official Notes. I wish there were a similar feature in LMS/SIS where I could select a checkbox next to names in the student list and compose a note that would generate an email.
Currently it seems like the only ways to send an email to a specific subgroup of students is to (a) create a group and copy/paste their emails into our Gmail (or use inbox message), (b) create a distribution list (not always possible when students don't fit an easily defined criterion), or (c) grab their emails and their parent emails individually from contact cards. A selectable list would be much more streamlined.
