Basically add an “S(ubmitted)” checkbox/enter-able code to go with the M(issing), I(ncomplete), e(X)empt, and L(ate) markers we already have so we can manually mark an assignment “submitted” in the grade book even if a student has not used the online submission option.
This would make it easy to note work turned in on time and serve as a visible confirmation to parents and students that an assignment has been received, just not graded yet.
Yes, please add a function for teachers to trigger a status change in students' view that bridges the time between turning in a non-system assignment and grading. Tracking similar ideas:
