In "Gradebook settings," letter grade scales have a character limit of 10. However, this limit is not visible to users, and entering more than 10 characters will cause significant gradebook errors.

My school created a scale that used terms from a rubric (e.g. "Consistently") and Blackbaud Support wasn't able to determine the cause of the problem until the next day.

Blackbaud's system should prevent users from entering more than 10 characters, or at least make the limit more apparent to users.
